Information we collect
- Account information: email address, name, authentication information, and account identifiers.
- Golf profile information: handicap, optional GHIN number, and optional payment-service handles or contact details you provide for settlement between trip participants.
- Trip and gameplay information: trip names, dates, locations, courses, rosters, tee times, scores, pairings, side games, expenses, balances, and related content you or other trip participants enter.

How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- create accounts and authenticate users;
- organize trips, rosters, scoring, side games, and settlement records;
- process purchases and confirm payment status;
- send account, invitation, challenge, and other Service-related emails;
- provide support and respond to requests;
- detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information:
- To trip participants: information needed to coordinate a trip—such as names, scores, handicaps, balances, and payment handles—may be visible to the organizer and other members of that trip.
- To service providers: including Supabase for hosting, database, and authentication services; Stripe for payment processing; Resend for email delivery; and Vercel for hosting and analytics. These providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms.
- For legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
- In a business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention and deletion
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it is processed.
Request account deletion
You may request deletion of your Fairway Outing account and associated personal data by emailing privacy@fairwayouting.com from the email address connected to your account. Use the subject "Fairway Outing account deletion request." We may ask you to verify your identity before completing the request.
We will delete or de-identify account data unless retention is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, transaction records, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Information other users independently provided and data that has been irreversibly aggregated may remain.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may update certain profile information in the Service. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights and a right to appeal our response.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International use
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email when appropriate.
